Overview

We are seeking an experienced AS/400 Architect with strong expertise in IBM i (AS/400) technologies and legacy application modernization. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience with RPG, COBOL, DB2, Control Language (CL), and Java, along with a solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, scripting, and database optimization.

The role involves designing, developing, maintaining, and modernizing IBM i applications while integrating legacy systems with modern enterprise platforms and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications on IBM AS/400 (IBM i).
• Develop and support applications using RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, and ILE RPG.
• Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications.
• Develop and optimize DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Write and maintain Control Language (CL) programs and automation scripts.
• Design and support ETL/ELT workflows for enterprise data processing.
• Integrate legacy AS/400 applications with modern systems using Java and scripting technologies.
• Perform application performance tuning and troubleshoot production issues.
• Support data migration and modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy IBM i applications.
• Follow best practices for source control, deployment, and application lifecycle management.

• Experience in legacy application modernization projects is highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
